Light water damage to lower edge of the text block, does not effect the ability to read. Six pages of gatefold engravings illustrating different tools used in surveying and navigation as well as samples of how to depict certain landforms on maps or seabased navigational needs. A facinating textbook whose concepts and problems are still relevant today. Good.

First free endpapers front and rear missing, page 61 is loose. Notes in fountain pen or quill front and rear pastedowns, pencil marks as well. Some foxing due to age, tight within. Good.

By John Frost, A.M." Complete in one volume. Leather covers are scuffed and occasionally scraped, but holding tight with only wear to extremities. Top and fore-edge dentelles are worn. Spine has red and black title blocks with gilt lettering. A few scuff marks to spine, but basically vg for its age. Marbled book edges are faded. Prelims to rear eps are foxed, contents only occasionally so. An important history by a very important historian.
