The text is set in 12pt Poliphilus printed on a dampened hand-made paper from the Carteria Amatruda in Amalfi, Italy. The end-papers are of burgundy-colored Magnani Firenze, hand-made in Italy. The book consists of a single section of 16pp sewn into boards. Venice: Daria Guarnati, 1943. Hardcover. Limited/Numbered. 70 pp. text, 251 pp. plates. Cream-colored, imitation leather, paper boards over a beige cloth spine. There are a couple of small dents in the bottom edge of the front cover. Corners are bumped and rubbed. Illustrated DJ, in a protective cover, is slightly aged, soiled and edge-worn. DJ spine is soiled and sun-struck. DJ spine ends and corners are chipped. Edges are slightly soiled. Text, in Italian, is numerically keyed to the reproductions which follow. Several of the reproductions are either in color, full-page, or fold-out. Interior is slightly aged, but clean, crisp and tight. Very good / very good.

Red leather covered boards with extensive gold tooling to cover boards, spine with five raised bands and black leather patch titles. Light scuffing and wear to boards, bumping to corners, losses to lower right corner of front and rear covers of each volume. Title patch of Volume I has a small loss at upper left corner, highly expected given the age of the volumes. Text block has gilded edges, endpapers marbled, light foxing to prelims and the occasional spot within. Lavishly illustrated with woodblock prints by Vecellio documenting clothing of the Sixteenth Century, primarlily of the upper clases. Originally published in...
