Stiff blue paper wraps with a portrait bust of Burns on the front cover, along with blue lettering. Covers are somewhat aged, soiled, discolored and edge-worn. Oriental-style ex-libris bookplate is tipped-in on the verso of the front cover. Text is on laid paper with deckled edges. Text is slighlty aged and there is a worm hole at the bottom edge that begins on page 5 and goes straight through to the rear ep. Good.

Tree calf covers are excellent for their age. Corners lightly bumped, bottom corners rubbed. Dentelle edging rubbed only on lower edges. Handsome spine has red title block, black vol. block, and gilt embellishments in compartments not lettered. Eps are marbled in predominately dark gray, black, and red. Front eps have a scuff center of each page, possibly where a bookplate was adhered. Prelims lightly foxed. Text block is aged. Rear pd has a fault across the sheet. In sum, a handsome addition to a library shelf. Vol. 2 of 3. Very Good.
