Volume I front board hanging by one cord, considerable foxing to frontispiece engraving and first title page with engraving of Temple Bar, From the Strand. Volume II front board detached. Marbled endpapers, considerable foxing to frontispiece engraving and first title page with engraving of Sussex Place at Regent's Park; this title page appears to have suffered water damage and was re-backed with another sheet of paper by a binder, second title page undamaged. This revised edition was published on the occasion of the opening of the New Main Building of the Imperial Hotel. The building it was replaced was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright at the beginning of the 20th century and was one of the few building to survive the 1923 earthquake that leveled much of Tokyo.
