This memoir of her life by Margaret Chase Smith (1897-1995) takes it's title from her 1950 speech on the floor of the United States Senate denouncing the Joseph McCarthy and his fear mongering campaign against alleged Communists in the United States Government, universities, and Hollywood. Smith served the State of Maine as a member of the United States House of Representatives and Senate from 1940 to 1973.
