Chicago, IL: Fictioneers, Inc., 1940. Wraps. First Edition. 128 pp. 8vo. Four color fantastic illustration on cover, wear and chipping to edges, taped repairs, 2" piece missing at midpoint on the right edge of the cover. Entire publication fragile and the paper has darkened uniformly, there is a reason they were called "pulps" as they were printed on a very low grade paper. Good.
This story is Isaac Asimov's (1920-1992) fourteenth written and ninth to be published. Originally titled, "Robbie," the title was changed by the editor. Asimov republished it as "Robbie" as Chapter 1 of his 1950 bestselling book, "I, Robot" that colleced a number of his early short stories, woven together by a narrator.
