Zodiac 3. International Magazine of Contemporary Architecture.

Brussels, Belgium: Association Pour La Diffusion Artistique et Culturelle, 1957. Wraps. First Edition. 230 pp. 4to. Slick stiff wraps with scuffing from shelf wear. Very clean within. An image of the issue's subject, Alvar Aalto and a cross section of one of his buildings graces the front cover. Very Good.
Contains Pier Carlo Santini and Goran Schildt's article, "Alvar Aalto from Sunila to Imatra: Ideas Projects and Buildings" (pp. 26-82) which is heavily illustrated with photographs and renderings of the work of Finnish architect Alvar Aalto (1898-1976). This publication represents a "Who's Who" in International and Modern design mid-century. What is as interesting as the design content are the advertisements by Olivetti (which also sponsored the magazine), Formica, Poggi, and others.
