Publication #228 of The Book Club of California. This two volume set contains Peter Hanff's highly illustrated work in hard cover with a printed paper covered boards with a W.W. Denslow illustration of Dorothy's home swept up in a cyclone. Green cloth spine with a printed paper label. This volume also contains an original leaf from the first printed edition of "The Wizard of Oz" which is the title page for Chapter X., "The Guardian at the Gate." Second volume, by binder Riley is bound in terracotta paper wraps with a Denslow illustration of the Tin Man, ax on shoulder and oil can in hand, reading the volume title posted to a tree. Both volumes were printed by Peter Rutledge Koch and bound by John DeMerritt Bookbinding.
