Fleeming Jenkin (1833-1885) was an English engineer and scientist who discovered and exposed an error in Darwin's statement of his Theory of Evolution. Not knowing about genetics, Darwin believed that evolution took place through the "blending" of inherited characteristics. Jenkin showed that this blending would lead to the inability of individual mutations to survive in the population.
