A stunning copy of the facsimile edition of "The House Beautiful" produced by William Winslow and his Auvergne Press in 1896/1897. Winslow was a client of Frank Lloyd Wright and enlisted Wright to create the intricate designs that adorn each page. Winslow's original edition was bound with a brown leather spine, here reproduced in cloth. A faithful facsimile, this edition even includes the fourteen page booklet sewn in on the first free endpaper reproducing Wright's photographs of weeds that influenced his designs within. A high point in design from the Arts and Crafts Movement and the Prairie School Movement that was growing in the Midwest at that time. Publisher's one page promotional sheet laid in. [Sweeney 1530].
