My Camera on Point Lobos. 30 Photographs and Excerpts from E. W.'s Daybook. Edward Weston.

My Camera on Point Lobos. 30 Photographs and Excerpts from E. W.'s Daybook.

Weston, Edward. Yosemite National Park, CA / Boston, MA: Virginia Adams / Houghton Mifflin Company, 1950. Comb Binding. First Edition. 79, [1] pp. Folio. Unpag. Cardboard covers with white plastic comb binding. Notorious for cover boards separating from spine, which this one has with the front and rear boards detached. Chipping and wear to both boards with losses at corners, creasing. Light foxing to first free endpaper, clean within. Illustrated with 30 plates of Weston's work in black & white. A very slight musty smell to the volume, photographs exquisite. Good.
An important book in that it was Weston's last and includes the last photograph he ever took, #19, "Eroded Rocks, South Shore, 1948." Also significant in that it was published by Ansel Adams wife, Virginia Adams through their photography and souvenir business based in Yosemite National Park. Haunting images by a master of photography.
