Michener and lithographs and woodcuts by Jack Levine enclosed in a silk covered clamshell box with a large belt-like closure on the front cover. Box has light age toning that is not evident until the belt closure is unclasped and the slightyl lighter original cover underneath is revealed. Michener's text and the four individual lithographs on Rives paper are encased in a folio matching the clamshell box with the same belted closure. The fifty-four watercolors, gouaches and drawings from Levine's sketchbook are printed on Ingres paper and are encased in a black leather folio. The Prospectus for this edition laid in the clamshell box. Fine.
