New York: Frederick A. Stokes Co., 1928. Hardcover. As. Sixth Printing, March 1938. 307 pp. Black & whtie illustrations. Decorative cover is unusual, to say the least. Purple cloth is lettered and decorated in green. On the front, the green forms rays around a rectangular pasted-on illustration in orange, green, black and white. The familiar Hugh Lofting drawings are immediately recognizable, and this one is in great condition, with only a few touches of shelfwear. Brilliant orange, green, tan, black and white eps picture birds on "the moon." P.o. name in ink on first fly. Frontis is same as front cover illus., "Rigged himself up like a tree." Sixth printing after 1928 first publishing. Contents are clean, tight, and bright. Beloved by several generations of children, Dr. Dolittle ventures far afield in this nice copy. Very Good.
