Paris: Le Prieur, 1811. Full Leather. Second Edition. 324, 310 pp. 12mo. Beautifully designed and executed books are bound in tree calf with gilt spine embellishments, black leather title blocks on spine. Corners lightly bumped, with more corner wear to Vol. 2. Spine ends mildly worn, with more attrition to heads than heels. Some joint tenderness on V. 2, but binding is perfectly tight. Gilt dentelles on cover edges do not carry to insides. Endpapers are marbled in navy, green, and white. Each book has an armorial bookplate on front pastedown, no names given. Vol. 1 uniformly foxed, with some let-up in the center of the book. V. 2 foxed only on prelims. Both volumes have the original dark green ribbon marker intact and unfaded. Copiously illustrated with exquisite steel engravings. A rare set in French language. Very Good.
