420 pp. Subtitle: "With Genealogies of the Shipbuilders, and Accounts of the Industries Upon its Tributaries 1640 to 1872." Covers, with stamped rules, are somewhat aged and soiled. Spine, with bright gilt lettering and rules, is aged, soiled, sunned and frayed at ends. Corners are bumped and frayed to the boards. Beautiful b/w floral design eps are slightly aged. Front paste-down has a few patches missing where a book plate was probably removed. A section of the top of the title page, approx. 1" high x 3 1/4" long, has been cut out at the hinge. Text is slightly aged. Extensively researched information on the people, places and occupations along the North River with maps and over 50 b/w illustrations.
