Front and rear cloth covers have colored line drawings of various pieces of pottery (two are outlined in bright gilt). Covers are somewhat aged, soiled and rippled. Edges are somewhat aged and soiled. Book is enclosed in a traditional Japanese slipcase, with bone(?) closure. Slipcase construction is decorative cloth over boards with a painted paper lining. Pasted-on paper title on slipcase spine. Slipcase is aged, soiled and worn along extremities. Paper lining of slipcase is cracked and/or split along hinges. Front eps are an illustration of a Japanese woman in a pottery shop, rear eps are a scene of fish being cut in front of a wall on which are displayed a variety of decorative pottery. Text, on traditional double-sided paper, is profusely illustrated throughout with b/w drawings. Fold-out map of Japan showing locations of various kilns. Interior is somewhat aged. Good / Good.
