Calf covers rubbed and worn. Half-inch chip at head of spine, tiny erosion at heel. Burgundy title block on spine lettered in gilt. Corners bumped. Binding holding. Ffep not present, fly detached. On the t.p. and again on back blanks is is written in in "Silas Ball's Property. 1824." Contents foxed. Printed by J. Mann and J.K. Remick on lovely rag paper with a marvelous "hand." Among 18 interesting chapters is one on the White Mountains, another on native animals and birds, an account of the founding of Dartmouth College, and much more. Author's preface is dated 1792. Good.
