Boston & New York: Houghton, Mifflin & Co. 1896. Green Cloth. Appledore Edition. 272 pp. A lovely gilded design of iris on sage green front cover and on spine. Gilt lettering indicates title and "Appledore Edition" on front; title on spine. Spine eroded a bit at each end, and sunned to a mellow brown. Teg. Eps are a small print of gilt on ivory. Ffep is shadowed by a long-gone clipping and has a paper-clip tear at upper edge. There are signatures of two previous owners, one in 1905 and one in 1946. Frontis page states "This is a copy from the first edition of this book." Clean and tight on laid paper, with green ribbon marker still present. Very Good.
