Cover is ivory with vertical black title block, red lettering on front, small "snapshot"-style drawings in tan and gilt scattered on front. Spine, sunned, has gilt title, design of trees which wraps to back. Back cover has small red block which states "Houghton Osgood Co." Overall, cover is slightly soiled. Slight touches of wear to corners, a bit more to spine ends. Eps are olive and red drawings on cream. Published anonymously by the author of other Bodley books. Contents are clean and tight, with just an occasional fingerprint. Informative, interesting stories of family travel. Very Good.

Spine sunned, chipped just a little at ends. Overall, cover is slightly soiled with touches of wear to corners, and occasional chips. Eps are olive and red drawings on cream. Large ink p.o. on front fly. Published anonymously by the author of other Bodley books. Contents are clean and tight, with just an occasional fingerprint. There are many ills. by various artists. One is signed "WH," presumed to be Winslow Homer. Informative, interesting stories of family travel, written as if taking place at the middle of the 19th century. Very Good.

Eps are drawings similar to cover, with red and gilt accents. These are most attractive. Front separating at hinge. Published anonymously by the author of other Bodley books. Penciled p.o. on front fly. Frontis tissue removed. Contents are soiled and fingerprinted. Informative, interesting stories of a family, part of a series which children loved. Near Very Good.
