Dial of the 1920's was a journal of new works of art, prose, poetry, drama, and literary criticism, as edited and shaped by Scofield Thayer. The wealthy Thayer was sole editor from 1920 - 1926, supported by Gilbert Seldes, then Kenneth Burke, then Alyse Gregory, and eventually succeeded by Marianne Moore. The magazine did not survive the loss of Thayer's financial support and stopped publication in 1929. In its prime, it included the leading writers and artists of its day. In this issue, writers included Michail Lermontov, Michail Prishvin, Arthur A. Young, Azorin, George Dillon, Logan Pearsall Smith, Alexander Kaun, Brent Dow Allinson and others. Reviews from Gilbert Seldes, T.S. Eliot, and others. Art from William Gropper, Anton Hanak, Hans Muller, and Edward Nagle. Very Good Plus.
