Lewis, Alonzo.
THE HISTORY OF LYNN.
Boston: John H. Eastburn, 1829. Half Leather. First Edition. 260 pp. Cover, half-leather over brown marbled boards, is worn. Gilt lettering and bands on spine show their age. Corners are bumped and edges are worn, but binding is tight and interior secure. Stamp on front and back eps identifying Clyde L. and Marie Davis as previous owners. Ffep has penciled name "Charles Sweeton," flyleaf identifies Sweeton in ink. Second flyleaf has another indecipherable name in pencil. Book shows some foxing throughout. He takes up the actual history of the town of Lynn at its inception, circa 1629, and continues through to 1829. An appendix lists public officials and graduates of Harvard University. Indexed. Includes a card adding information to a statement that in 1652 a mint was established in Boston, tracing the actual coining to a Lynn resident. Thorough and well-documented history in a most readable form. Very Good.
