Wien-Leipzig, Germany: Verlag Fur Kulturforschung, 1930. Hard Cover. As. Roughly translated, "The Matriarchy in the History of Mankind". Red, white and black dust jacket design in the Bauhaus style, very bold. Light chipping at edges, scuffing from shelf wear, small losses at head and foot of spine, all four in mylar covers. Cover boards had another Bauhaus style design of white, red and black with the smokie profile of a nude woman brandishing a whip. Two volumes have a very light stain at the head of the cover board at center. A fascinating look at female sexuality, from a male perspective, through a German lens just prior to the rise of the Nazi Party in Germany. Each volume has very light age toning to endpapers, clean within. Profusely illustrated! A heavy set, will require additional postage for shipping. Very Good / Very Good.
