Gould, Chester.
DICK TRACY MEETS THE NIGHT CRAWLER.
Racine, Wisconsin: Whitman Publishing Co. 1945. Brown Paper Over Boards. Presumed First. 247 pp. + 2 pp. pub. ads. B/w ills. Textured brown covers have bright orange lettering front and spine. All edges tinted navy blue. Orange and black dj features Tracy, handcuffs, and the famous Gould signature on front, list of other Whitman books of mystery and adventure on back. Dj is unclipped, not priced. There are tiny touches of edgewear at corners and along edges, with two small chips at upper front edge. The front hinge has what appears to be a line of paint along it - no paper erosion. Eps show Dick Tracy and Tess, Junior and his freckle-faced girl in profile. Contents are uniformly aged but in excellent condition, with just a few pages lightly soiled. In all, an inexpensive book to begin with that has scarcely been touched except by time. Near Fine / Very Good Plus.
