PAMPHLETS ON CHURCH ARCHITECTURE.
Oxford: Various, 1850. Three-Quarter Leather. Individually paginated. B/w ills. A collection of 11 pamphlets including texts of some speeches, by noted Oxford professor Edward A. Freeman ca. 1850. Each section contains from 7 to 66 pages. Most are illustrated with text ills., diagrams, and elevations. All are bound in handsome burgundy leather set off from red marbled boards by gilt rules. Spine and lower edges have some scuffing. Leather is soiled here and there. Different red marbled paper used for eps. There is a small bookstore sticker on fpd underneath a nice printed bookplate. Two of the sections have name of p.o. on cover: T.W. Wayte. Topics range from a paper read before the Archaeological Institute at Bristol July 29, 1851 titled "The Preservation and Restoration of Ancient Monuments" to "The Arrangement of Chapels East of Transepts" to "Notes on the Architectural Antiquities of the District of Gower in Glamorganshire." Very Good Plus.
